Sparkling water

Low histamine

Plain sparkling water is low in histamine with no known histamine-related concerns beyond added flavorings.

Carbonated water on its own doesn't contribute histamine or trigger histamine release in any established way.

  • Unflavored is simpler — plain sparkling water is about as neutral as it gets; flavored versions sometimes contain citric acid or natural flavors that some people find irritating

  • Compared to soda — sparkling water is generally a cleaner choice than flavored sodas, which often carry more additives

Checking the ingredients on flavored sparkling waters is a small habit that can make a noticeable difference.
