Chicken (breaded)

Moderate histamine

Breading adds gluten-containing ingredients that may compound sensitivity for those reacting to both gluten and histamine.

Breaded chicken combines a typically low-histamine protein with a coating that introduces gluten and often other additives.

  • Breading adds variables — coatings often contain wheat, seasoning blends, and sometimes additives that may be problematic on their own

  • Gluten connection — some people with histamine intolerance also react to gluten, so the combination may be harder to tolerate than plain chicken

Plain, freshly cooked chicken without coatings is usually the more straightforward option.
