Purslane

Low histamine

Purslane is a fresh edible plant with no known histamine content or histamine-raising effects.

Purslane is a succulent leafy green eaten fresh in salads and Mediterranean dishes, and it doesn't raise histamine concerns.

  • Always eaten fresh — purslane is consumed in its fresh, unfermented state, which means there's no opportunity for histamine to develop through aging or bacterial action

  • Rich in omega-3s — interestingly, purslane is one of the few plants with notable omega-3 content, and there's no indication this contributes to histamine issues

Fresh purslane is generally considered a safe, nutritious green to include freely.
