Avocado oil (refined)

Low histamine

Refining removes more of the avocado's natural compounds, making this an even lower-risk option than unrefined avocado oil.

The refining process strips away most of what remains of the avocado fruit after pressing, leaving a very neutral, pure fat.

  • More processing, less reactivity — refining uses heat or filtration to remove pigments, flavors, and residual plant compounds, which also reduces any potential for sensitivity

  • Trade-off — refined oils lose some of the nutritional nuance of unrefined versions, but for histamine purposes, that extra processing is generally a plus

If you find unrefined avocado oil occasionally bothers you, the refined version is worth trying instead.
